are you special?
been looking for a keif box for a long time,dont fancy paying the £20-£40 that are being asked for them.plus cant get much info on the screen size (microns)that are used.
so I found 6x 3" square metal screen samples on an auction site ranging from 75-250 microns.also found a 3" wooden box.got some of them lil neo magnets too.all for just a tenner.
I figure that with not much more than a saw and drill I can make my own 6 part kief box.but as im not much of a handyman I may try just one screen to start with.i may also get some Perspex tubing and have a go at a sort of bubblebag type thing.
wish me luck.
anyone else had a go at making kief boxes or bubblebags ?

I'm a woodworker by trade and would say the best way to do a single screen would be something like this;
Dismantle the box, cut a straight line with a tenon or panel saw into the inside of each side of the box, only a few mm deep just enough to accommodate your screen. Make sure your lines match up on each side, you can use something like a spirit level as a straight edge for your cut if needed. I would bend the edges of the screen up a little and glue into the recesses you just cut and assemble the box again. Depending on what tools you have you could use a tiny router bit for the cut but more than likely it would cost you more for the bit than a pre made box. Good luck!

I have a go at this :grin:

You could buy two boxes and knock out the bottom of both then glue the two boxes together with the screen in the middle. Store your bud in one side and the keef will drop into the other. Now when wanting the keef lay the box on its side and it will open up almost level ideal for scraping. Just make sure the boxes are flat tops and have good locking to prevent it opening. And in till needing the keef just store in an upright position.

Or

Cut 6 screens to a snug fit then use packers in between each screen. Could use penny's in each corner and just add enough for desired height 5-10 penny's would be more then enough.

Or

Just outlay the cost for a proper keef box as its only a one time purchase. :thumbs:

I cheated as I knew id make a balls up.just so happens I bumped into a cabinet maker that is a bit of a stoner,after a chat and shown a few pics of roughly what I was after I now have a dainty lil 6 part shaker box.
