Indoor kfigerm tries his best

I've been thinking of getting some automation in my grows but I also don't want to give up the simplicity, looking at testing an autopot at some point but after seeing your huge autos I might try and rig an autopot type effect somehow. I'll need to give it some thought.
1 caveat. Anything with feed lines is subject to clogs so constant monitoring maintenance and replacement are needed.

A hard to reach plant experienced days of drought during bloom before I noticed. Harvest revealed a nanner and a luckily only a few seeds.

I was considering wicking systems like the AC Infinity but they typically hold only a gallon so I'd be feeding them often anyways...

Plus top feeding pulls oxygen to the roots. IDK about wick feeding?

I'd presume water wicking action in medium/soil is the same whether the wicking is up, down, sideways, etc. Wicking likely provides more oxygenation of roots vs. top feeding..

With top feeding, some amount of feed/water is going to quickly flow/pour through the medium or collect/pool (not dissolve as much gasses). With bottom-feeding wicking there's only slow movement of a thin film on the surfaces of the medium/soil particles (capillary action). It's the total amount of wetted air-exposed medium/soil particles' surface area for longer time that I presume contributes to wicked-in water medium/soil being more saturated with dissolved air, including O2, vs. top feeding/pouring on water.

I learned to love these tuja/rainpoint wife timer pumps. You can always start them manually it an automatic cycle doesn't fit perfectly. The app and watering schedule is OK (just periods, not time dependant programming) and to fit every plant with one pump makes it all flexible.

Once dialled in like i do let them sit in the runoff just 1-2 cm, works usually pretty well. The thing with the pyramids is really to not let them dry out so bottom feeding won't reach to the tops and so the pydamid will not hold as much as it does when topfeeding.

These pyramids look interesting, and your getting good results 🙂
Id like to know more about the timer-pumps!

for the pumps watch this for basic infos. I do set up one pump for one plant/pyramid so feed them independantly. I set the timer to achieve a state where the pyramid is always moist. This adapts during the grow from once a week in the beginning when i still do it manually up to 3 times a day in stretch with low humidity - outside in the sun for the LSD it was set to every 3 hours. The watering duration varies between 6 and 13 minutes until a pyramid is fully saturated - much variables play into this. But there's the caveat you only can set watering periods - when there comes a time they need less and you feed too often/much, you need to adjust it manually - It also would be nice to have different periods over a day - obviously at nighttime they don't suck as much and one could skip one or two feedings. That's still not possible. If you try to simply cut the power off, the setting for the watering duration resets to 30s and has to be adjusted after that (i don't use batteries with them).
If you go with drain-to-waste you simply set them and let the excess run off. I collect the runoff and re-feed it diluted - the pyramids allow that. I made some kind of cycle where another pump ran to collect the runoff and put it back into the res to not flood my tent when I was away for 2 weeks. So theres plenty of usecases for those simple pumps and I am always happy to have obe at hand. They cope with running dry for a while - if not too often. I have several of them, one suffers a poor motor after a year of use - she simply needs double time now - and one ran dry too long and gave up. Still very reliant.

and if all reads a bit weird - still have a hangover from a family party on saturday - sorry.
It read fine, no worries 🙂

Here have some Tylenol

today i took down half of the LSD - there's plenty left to do the next days. 12 paper bags filled for drying. No mold and just found some budrot on one single top this evening - perfect timing but high time to finish the work.
I'm already smoking some of the glue gelato - sweet and heavy smoke. Nice Bang. Can recommend.

Cheers!
