Sometimes my leaves will get stuck in the soil and cause the tips to turn brown and start to die. Is it okay to trim those leaves without causing and problems with the growth of the plant? My kush and my Red Dwarf have had some leaves that got stuck in the soil. The rest of the plant is healthy just not those leaves.i know I should not crop the leaves so I am curious

I always remove those lower leaves, not only for the reason you stated, but to open up the bottom of the plant and allow better air circulation. If the top layer of soil stays wet all the time it can create the perfect breeding environment for fungus gnats. Allowing the top layer of soil to dry out quicker discourages them from breeding.

Not to hijack the thread, but when you say remove the lowers, you mean just some of the smaller 3-5 leaf branches at the bottom? I was scared to do that since I sort of considered it defol..
