Grow Mediums Leaving for a week - DWC setup and how to avoid dry spells

So I have a 5 gallon dwc setup. My auto will be hitting flower by the time I leave. Im used to about 4 liters or more a day of drinking...

Whats my best option. If I add another 5 gallon and attach the two, that would effectively double the time in between fill ups right?

Or, have a and I think I just answered my own question, but have a res sitting up higher then the 5 gallon dwc hokked up to a float valve. But I would have to have the float valve in a controller bucktet. So none the less im going to need to attach two buckets, and run a float system I guess. FACK

Any other ideas?

Adding another bucket next to it with a U tube over the top between the two and start the siphon with airline. Quicker and easier setup but will only serve to increase the size of your res temporarily, wont keep it full like a float switch would but id be nervous setting up a float system before vacation unless you are positive you know how it works. No experience with this in DWC but have used the same principal for other things like draining a row of undrilled aquariums the lazy way
