Takes less than a min to DL a light app on most phones. I was hoping to get a thread going where we can share some basic info on our leds in hopes of helping some people (me
) get a better hold on what height our leds should be at during different stages. Yes I know most people have their grows dialed in but who knows maybe im not the only one wondering if my light should be higher or lower. So ill start
Light: Mars Hydro II 700w (300-380w actual) 140x5w full spectrum approx 2 mo old.
App used: "light meter" on google play store
phone: galaxy note 3
2" under center: 38,000 lux 7000k
20" under center: 7700 lux 7000k
30" under center: 3600 lux 7000k (plant tops at 3 weeks)
42" under center: 2300 lux 7000k
Observations: ive moved this light up and down between 42" and 20" to plant tops without much of any difference in stretching on advice from different people. I took the average and hope to improve on my guess. Also know phones and apps arent perfect but it will have to do because it is so easy. I am a bit confused with the color though, 6700-7000k is sunlight yet this is obviously not white. What it could be though is an average from both ends of the spectrum because its "full spectrum" or am I over my head again?
