The only way you'll get Congress to act is to have the president say he hates MJ.

That really is the question. What has to happen before we are no longer outlaws? Both locally and on a Federal level? I know what I'll be researching the next few days. Seems as though when enough people eventually see how harmless and the possibility of there being beneficial roads to walk down health wise, action will be taken to de-criminalize cannabis.
Haven't we gotten there by now, seriously, this shite is obvious, how do we get past all the Bullshite in Washington that is holding this up? I don't even smoke much anymore but for some reason I sure enjoy growing it, I think because it is such an interesting plant in and of itself. I know I really don't want to be prosecuted for growing a plant. Man, that just sounds stupid saying it out loud.

First I didn't answer the poll as I don't like the language. There are people in place who are working their butts off for our sake. We need to honor and respect them.

What has to happen to make this happen is get involved. If you can afford it, donate to your state NORML or national norml. Donate to the candidates who endorse legalizing cannabis. If your congressional representatives don't now endorse cannabis, write to them and ask them to. Let them they work for you and your vote counts. We have a local woman who is full Republican party line. I sent lots of form letters and all I got in return was form letters. When I wrote a letter to the editor of my local newspaper and told me story, I got a nice letter from her. At least I got her attention! You can do this too! You must do this if you want things to change.

IF you take no action, you are only affirming the status quo.

If proof that multiple chemicals within a cannabis plant can not only be benificial to people but could possibly be the foundations of a cure for one of the most common yet deadly disease that is cancer, and still be illegal. Then can we honestly be contemplating the possibility of corrupt, controlling and conspiring governments ever legalising cannabis in a way which the common consumer can simply "purchase" his/her medicine. I think not, if it were ever to be legalised, it would be purely for the governments benefit, and not the consumers.

There are really two fronts at play here, imo. On the one hand, you have "government"- who have a craving for the lobbyist $$$$$$$$, and act accordingly.
Then, there's my 78 year old mother... Under whom I endured a 2 decade onslaught of "stoner" degradation... lol (true, but funny true....) Who, just recently, asked me to help her find a cannabis treatment for her fibromyalgia and a yet undefined lung growth.
To me, its the 78 year old moms of the world who are the real tipping point. And, if there's anything that could possibly turn the tide of lobbyist money from the government discourse on cannabis, its a bunch of boomer moms with resolve.
I'm hopeful that 2016 will be the end game for sensible cannabis acceptance. This I know. Every.single.soul who cares to see that reality MUST be active, and resolute, and willing to go the distance in seeing that it happens. Its not going to be a river float. But, it is time.

When people of the world actually get to run the world, then it will be legal :).

In Washington, the saying "The Squeaky Wheel Gets the Grease" is the motto of the day. We must the loudest squeak!

Once it goes legal at the federal level its game over, big pharma and commercial ag. will be all over it. They will be pulling sub par plants out of Afghanistan and mass processing oils and extracts in china. Shipping it over by the metric ton. You can say good bye to the smaller grower, unless you are only growing for personal use only, it will be almost impossible to grow for you and friends to cover your costs.

Be careful what you wish for... cause you just might get it.

Market flooded with sub par buds, sprayed with eagle 20 pesticides and 99 dollar oz.

Good god

We are pretty vocal in Ontario Canada but along ways from legalization sadly 5 or more plants is a mandatory minimum of 6 months any more that a 99 1 year mandatory minimum it is sad state of affairs but medical it is getting easier for medical patients to buy but at 8 to 12 dollars a gram for meds. There is some guys out west who are fighting for the right to grow our own meds and are doing a stellar job if you have a licsense from the old system you still can grow but if you applied after a certain time no you must buy from a grower who is given a contract by the goverment to grow it for you so no edibles even if the doctor prescribed it to you at 10 a gram and prescribed 20 grams a day there is no way you could afford that

In 2 weeks my state will have a run off for a US senate seat. The local canna lobby has thrown their support to the Republican candidate simply because he stated that he would "consider" medical marijuana. Sounded like so much lip service empty campaign promise to me, but it was better than the absolutely not that came from the dumbacrat. Our other senator (also a republican is against all forms of canna legalization. At least that's what the form letter that I received in response to my last letter about 5 months ago. I think our efforts for legalization are more fruitful at the state level.

Unfortunately I don't think I will ever see 100% legalization in the US (I hope I'm wrong). I expect more headway in 2016 but not much. By 2020 I expect the majority of states will have some kind of medical law on the books. Of course some of them will be worthless like the bills that are up in 8-10 states that will limit to CBD content only (no THC). Again, unfortunately I believe my current state of residence will be one of the last to cave. Relocation anyone?
