You know it really dose not matter what happens, legal or not I will still consume this beautiful herb. I've went from spending a thousand dollars or more a month for man made meds to toking a bowl a day to every two days and haven't looked back. It all boils down to money in my imo. When it's all worked out to who's pockets will be lined with dough then you'll see a drastic change. Look at oil sales, tobacco, alcohol, pharmaceuticals, health care and everything else that costs us so much. The day the powers to be are able to get rich from a naturally grown plant things will change. We the people, who are we? We are treated like mushrooms, kept in the dark and fed bullshit and we except it. Hell I'm guilty as well I take it by the spoon fulls(bullshit) with no voice to proclaim my deserved freedom. How do you voice your opinion? You'll voice yourself straight to prison. MONEY! MONEY! MONEY!

I think the politics are ripe for the picking. The Republicans will do anything to draw support away from the Democrats. Especially now with the Immigration blow up. They are pissed that the Latinos will support the Dems in 2016 so watch for some unusual bedfellows to team up. In several states, the marijuana measures are getting more votes than the Governor or Senate races. They see this and will put it in their playbook if it will help them.

Watch. Just watch.

I don't understand why people are afraid to speak up. But then, I'm self employed and don't give a shit.

I work for a family owned and run company(my family) so I'm pretty much self employed but the prospects of doing time just don't appeal to me. I've done all the time I want to do.

Thanks everybody. I really wanted a healthy discourse. It seems the peoples voice has been sold out in favor of lobbyists money. That really makes me sick and not just for us. The medical implications aside, people will smoke cannabis recreationally. How do we get them to just take a hands off policy and let the market develop naturally? As I type that I'm thinking about how dirty and twisted the lawmakers have become and how they will probably never that happen. Again, I'm just making myself feel sick. Half-way sorry I brought it up. Right now Washington is so mired down in muck it can't be trusted to get anything right. Sad state of affairs this country has come to.

Maybe a mod can repost this link to support NORML and sticky it:

Dontate to support NORML

I can't even believe this plant has been illegal for so long. It's a plant that you do nothing to, to get the effects.
No processing of any chemicals or and added work. You plant it, pick it, and smoke, eat or ingest it the way you desire to get the effects. I can't believe it's against the law to grow something that was here before Mankind was! This was the biggest lie in history! I am so pro legalization it's pathetic. I am very open about smoking it. I only keep it from my ex wife(She is such a goodie two shoes) Here story about my ex.. She was in college and hanging with friends.
They sparked one up :Sharing One:and she told them it is bad for you and gave them a lecture. :slaps: Yes she was kinda nerdy and against Marijuana and other drugs but she was ok with the drinking. Yea I wasn't smoking when I was with her except at the end. Anyway between 2016 and 2020 alot of states will pass new marijuana laws either legalizing it or decriminalizing it. Texas is the only state I see giving the biggest issue. Just my 2 pennies.

I disagree on a couple of points:
1. I am glad you started this thread. It is needed for us to talk about and more to act on it in whatever way we can.
2. There are some Pro Pot lobbyists now in Washington. We need more.
3. We are never going to get what we want : no laws or regulations like vegetables. It isn't going to happen. However I see home growing becoming more popular as Colorado and now Oregon have it. I'm not sure about Alaska. As I live in the home brew capital of the world, I am hopeful pot will go that way also. Even though people like to brew their own beer and wine, that sure hasn't hurt the commercial sales of them.

This is all new stuff. We must realize that life is full of compromises and legalization will be one of them.

Amen. Who are we anyway? Cannabis HAS been around forever AND you would think by now someone would've taken the time to get the beneficial aspects of it commercialized. Strange it hasn't gone the way of the Poppy. How many people do you see growing them? Opium isn't much more difficult to yield really. Cannabis has been around as long.

This makes me sad. Then hopeful. Yes, as the home brewers do. I'm certain the good folks who brew at home really really dig what they are doing. Continuing something generations and generations and generations of people have done for lifetimes... a really long time, OK? Home cannabis cultivators are no more criminal than a farmer having a bit of the made up the mountain, wink wink. Where is the crime? How difficult is it to see that it has always gone on and always will. How anyone can take the freedom of another living human away, even temporarily, for this, is repugnant.

</Rant>. All apologies.

Mind boggling how warped, something so simple, has become. Here's to us keeping tradition, freedom, individuality and all good shiite up and running. Extra, good karma for every outlaw flower grower tonight.
