:funny:I am told Yorkshire water is soft, unlike London water which is hard. Like the people maybe?

My ph has been creeping up around 7.5ish lately. I'm glad I ran into this post. Cheers

As for fungus gnats. Diamateous earth and gnatrol works well. I would definitely recommend them

One more thing.. so do I add my nutes first THEN add the vinegar water solution after that? Wouldnt I be flushing my nutes out by doing this?

Ph down doesn't cost too much. One bottle @ £5 lasted most of the grow. I wouldn't like to use vinegar or lemon juice, at least we know the ph down is more reliable. The Ph of water isn't affected by storing it for 24hrs, just the chlorine

I ended up breaking down and getting a ph up/down kit with a tester for only $15 free shipping. I never realized how important this was when first starting out..

hi guys; I had high pH (ps its small p, big H- don't let @Dr. Babnik catch you typing it any other way).
I had cause to lower my pH recently cos I added too much lime to my mix; I had lemons to hand and was amazed at how much I could bring down the pH of my water/feed;
10 litres went from 7 to 5 with just one lemon. I have also used cider vinegar and found that a dessertspoonful did about the same.
To be more precise, of course you will need a pH tester.
I did some research on both (nothing scientific-just Googling) and discovered there's lots of other goodies in lemon juice and probably good cider vinegar too;
potassium for one, but whether its the right kind or available I don't know, but I suspect Dr.B will have something useful to add.
I am in soil so adding nutes in the form of lemon juice/cider vinegar wont throw me too much but perhaps if you are hydro then additional nutes might upset the balance.

Re Biobizz. I e mailed them regarding my PH problems (7.4) They said that you should not need to use an adjuster with the biobizz soils and nutes. My problem is that i am using pouch bags and i cannot get a run off. SO i will not use them again. They said that using Canna organic ph down would be fine.
cheers
