Can anyone give me a rough estimation of the distance from my plants to my light at each stage of growth .

Seedling / veg / bloom

Il be using a 400w hps

Thanks in advance

at least 1m far from the seedlings. then when they get stronger start bringing it closer but keep always a good quality thermometer under the bulb, right on top of the higher tip of the plant and make sure its around 25-29 C

also there is a hormone that affects the distance betweem the internodes. if you keep the light too close to your autos, they will not stretch at all. There is an optimum amount of stretch that you want to achieve. i prefer most of the bud sites to be open to the light. If you plan to lst or scrog, etc then you need the stretch so as to shape the plant as you want

keep a thermometer under your bulb to find out in which distance from it you have 26-27 degrees.

You will see that this distance is different between day/night, hot/cold/rainy days, etc

So once I get 26 -27 degrees that's my good point

All digital thermometers have Max/Min button. Check once or twice the day your Max temp under the bulb.
28 degrees is still not a problem on top of canopy but better test their limits during the last month of flowering, not in the biegin. Its when the plants are young that temps over 29 affect em really negatively

I use a 600 watt hps and I keep my light around 18 to 20 inches above canopy during veg and during flower I will lower it about a inch every other day until I get it down to 15 to 16 inches above my flowering plants. Works great for me but I have a sealed hood with intake fan.

Good Morning All-

Rains have finally stopped in Texas. We have been getting enormous amounts of rain in the last 2 months so this is really nice. Beautiful sunshine makes me want to grow:)

Anyway, here is my AK auto at Day 3. So far so good.

Thanks
