Hello everyone!

I have been struggling with the height of my beautys so I had to positon my Light+Reflector at the back so that the light and reflector fills the room to the front opening. I'm having new ones under thee reflector and bigger ones are in the rows afterwards. I have been asking myself lately as they are now in flowering if bud density is depending on wether light gets from above or from side/above. I fear the buds will not develope properly enough. Sure thing I will do scrogging next tim to avoid a too height plant growth but for this I just dont want the front plants and their buds to suffer undeer the positoning of my light.

For now I'm not sure what to do. If buds just takee longer to get fat or if in the end I will loose weight and thickness of em until they are ready.

I'm using a CFL 200W red spectrum light which should be eenough in a 90x60x90 tenty thing. All has been great until the plants nearly crashed the roof. They got into flowering early enough so that they now stopped growing more but I just fear the plants at the opening of the tent just dont get enough light passing through the ones in the second row.

Anyone has ever had the same situation or can tell me wether the plants just take longer or if I should change something to avoid loss of bud thickness.

Please let me know what you think :)

Would appreciate your input very much!

So long shizzle vanizzl ;)

I don't think it matters if the light comes from the top or sides as long as they get enough direct light. You can either get more lights to cover the plants or you can rotate them every so often so they all share the best light.

Thanks namvet25, been thinking the same and have been rotating them since flowering. Maybe its just me being not calm enough and expecting a faster growth as I always try to compare to grow reports here in the forums. I was seearching for some extra lights but I have to admit the only place that is free is about 5-10 cm's in the corners. Couldn't find a good spotlight for that. The only thing I found was a cfl spot for 15 W cfls but I assume it would not help much? Also I fear burning the tops then.

Thanks for your answer!! At least I know I didn't do anything crucial wrong until now. Also I must say a big thank you too all of you guys heree in the forums. I have basically started from zero and learned so much just from reeading and watching pictures that I think I'm now on the right track :)

CFLs can be really close just as they don't touch the plant. I've been struggling with suicidal leaves. Last grow highest girl was 40cm, now 90cm with more root space :D
But luckily she stopped vertical a week ago and focuses on delicate bubblegum aroma now. 15 W indeed has little value, I'd go 25W at least. I'm at 150W total now, 1 plant all sides covered, but for next grow (MK) I can up it to 200W with 40e :tiphat:

I reckon that the fast results are due LED around here. CFLs take longer, but no hurry "Need Weed break"

I also have to regularly check the directioning of the highest leaves as they tend to rather kiss the light all night than surviving :D But daily routine safes em and I may think about some 25W in the corners for the next try. For now I might stick with the rotation as I did already. Probably you are right with the fast results depending on LEDs. Don't know why :D Been so patiently but not as I can see dem really getting to the end result I just get nervous and can not wait long enough hehe. Sure thing I might be change some things for the next round but for the first time I'm actually more than happy. Wouldn't have expect it do work out that great already.

However when I think about "direct" light and such I have been thinking about letting the plants more room next each other so that light can pass better. What do you guys think on that? Is it necessary to let them "single" grow or can I just leave em in the big bush as they are now. For the info they all stick together now pretty close and it more looks like a jungle then trees ;)

Hey and Welcome!
Sounds like you have things under control. I am growing four in my tent and expect things (I hope!) to get bushy. I have LED and CFLs going and will probably add another LED for coverage and penetration.
Good luck with it all and pictures would be swell if you had some, I can't get enough pictures!!!!"Super Shooter"

Yeah actually I wanted to do some picturees too but I'm a little paranoid as a beginner you know :D Also not suree how to hidee any location tags or something on camfiles. I guess there is a guide somewhere here? But I'm not sure. better not dump something in the net I always think ;)

I was the same way. But you gotta think this is not Facebook or Twitter.lol I've yet to here someone gettin arrested for posting pic on our site. But I completely understand safety is key. thing is if you are new to growing and start having problems it'll be hard for anyone to help without pics to go by. There are threads to erase data from pics but I believe it's for cell phones. I'm not sure with actual camera if you have to do that, I maybe wrong. But the people who get busted are the ones trying to show off and look cool long as you keep things under wraps and don't sell you'll be fine.
