Mephisto Genetics Light schedules

I like 18/6 because I feel that during the dark period, not only does the plant rest, but I believe the root zone gets stronger with the lights out period, and in cases of high heat, it'll also lower soil temperature

There is a 10+ pages post on this topic somewhere... Look around at this forum and read.
In the amount of time that it took you to type out that comment you could have copied the link like you did below. Which is much appreciated, im not trying to nit pick here but the last thing a new member wants to see is that type of response in their thread,

here is the thing, the site is dedicated to education of members and sure sometimes its a pain that they blindly ask questions but were here because of them.. Without new members the site would not be here for you.

I didn't take any offense. Sometimes it's tough to figure out what certain forums will be offended by and what is encouraged .

I did run a search and read a couple threads before posting a new one.

I can also say from experience on other forums that I've gotten scolded both for posting a new thread on a common topic, as well as resurrecting an old thread.

I will admit that I did not go all the way to the end of that thread and the posts I was seeing were from 2011. Had I went to the end I would have noticed that it was still running. My fault for that. Either way I appreciate all the replies and help

No no dont take me wrong its ok to ask man we dont mind that around here. Were not like other places, sure a search would have gave you information but there are a lot of us around all the time to answer too. We pride ourselves on that one.

It all comes down to opinion, most are anecdotal posts. Although some use dli daylight integral as a way to maximize photosynthetically active photons that are delivered in 24 hour period. So useing lower power @ a more efficient setting to gain the same energy as one useing 20/4 18/6 12/12 but at higher less efficient settings. Less par watts / sq ft but for longer periods. As to those that state healthier plants from dark period, it is fact that cannabis is a class 3 plant and requires no dark period to photosynthesize.

Searching is fine and dandy, but some threads hold higher value and advice or a link to one is kindly. I often ask others for any bookmarked threads on a subject I am reading as a way to find the best information sooner. :vibe:

:mind blown:

This post lets me know I need to seriously learn a lot more about plant biology

In soil we run 24/0 generally with CFLs and leds til the seedling sprouts, followed by 18/6 with just the leds all the way til the last half of flower, then we switch over to 12/12. We think 12/12 during the last half of flower may speed up the trichomes production as it may resemble fall.. just theory we have I guess.. not sure whether or not this is true.

While not totally knocking that idea. Isnt the point of the rudralis not to be dependent on the season? She gives not a fuck and just wants to get her freak on lol. But part of these girls are photoperiod so you may have a point with 12 12.

Do you think you get a better/stronger product, hows the yield on her compared?

The biggest benefit it would bring would be to larger growers with lots of light. Cut the bill some ya know.
