Do I need to do a dark period before cutting them down does anyone do this thanks for any feedback

I have heard of growers doing it and some say it helps with trychome production and some say it doesn't so it's just a guess

I agree with chopping them BEFORE the lights come on, but I have cut with a dark period and without. Cannot tell the difference personally.

If you have more than one of the same strain plant..... you should try both methods this time and publish the results in another thread!

Im sure you could find a few willing participants to help sample the two dif harvest methods lol

One more question for you good answer by the way I have some plants I want to cut down but they have a a few white hairs should I wait

Do you have a scope? I would go by the maturity of trichomes. But a lot of folks will tell you they dont chop as long as there are fresh new white hairs showing up. If you dont have a scope you can get a cheap but effective ine from ebay for like 8 bucks

Are these pictures of more than one plant or just one?
Some of the pictures the buds look more done than others. But in any case, IMO - I would wait before taking them down, they don't ready to me.

atrain hit it on the head though with checking the trics....however, take into account that not all autoflowering strains will amber, so in reality you should judge the 'ripeness' by the age, when you switched to flowering nutes, trics and pistils.
