Dont hold your breath on fixing the roads. We pay an extra 58 cents a gallon on gas for road maintenance. And we prolly hold the worlds record for pot holes. Then in 2004 they told us if we legalize gambling and build casino;s in our state we wouldnt have property taxes, that turned out to be a big ass lie. Or the 240 million we got from suing the tobacco industry to help cancer patients, that money all went towards the teachers pension plan that was 1.5 billion under funded.Ya if it was legal here the tax dollars would be enough to fix our roads so we probably got the toll road industry lobbying against it here! Maine has the worst pot holes/frost heaves I’ve seen….
The best thing I guess about living in a democracy, u still get to bitch and not get taken away in the middle of the night. Politicians in communist countrys could learn a lot from our politicians, like how to just ignore the bitching.
