@Olderfart :thanks: :pighug: there'z actually a couple diff kindz of empress tree, and they're fairly common here, as they basically grow wild everywhere & are considered an invasive speciez....u mighta missed what i was tellin Mossy one day about em, in that a) they're the fastest growing tree in the world, and b) their wood is very valuable, becuz it's the lightest, yet densest wood there is....in the picz below, u can see my old half-dead pine tree that'z been there for eonz, and the empress jus started growin right beside it 4 summerz ago....as it growz, i've been slowly trimmin away the old pine, to where one day, i'll be able to jus git rid of it altogether, as the empress has huge leavez & will be a great shade tree....mine has already grown about 30" so far this year & this is only itz fourth year of growing :yoinks: :headbang: ppp

Wow. It would be kinda cool if our favorite plant grew that aggressively. Does the tree cause any problems where it invades?

Some of you have clearly never stood on a black shingled roof chasing yellow jackets around in a canvas beekeeper suit  I'll see if I can get a roof surface reading tomorrow :bong:
I have. Had to remove a huge nest before the roofers started. Had I not noticed that thing hanging beneath the soffit at the peak of the roof, the roofers would have found it the hard way, on a 1:1 pitch roof. Their safety gear would have made getting away a bit slower than desired.

Getting rid of the nest was interesting, but it got done without pain on my part.

We go through a lot of cheese, mostly into me. Cheese is an important treat when on strict keto.
All the mamals in my house love the stuff.

Must-have for training and search/find games.

I'm not on keto but there's a socio-genetic affinity for cheese.

Even down to my humor. 🙄

Last week I cut the lawn service go on my parents place, was gonna start cutting the grass myself this week. I should be slapped, and hard.
oopsie :crying:

I must have those genes, cheese was a fave decades before keto. :pighug:

They remind me of the leaves we'd wipe our butt with in the woods, dont know what the official name was, but we called them elephant ears.
Up here, I sometimes resort to moss. :crying:

I believe bamboo grows faster, but that might not classify a tree.
