As a kid living on the prairies we got a few cents per gopher tail from local farmers. Kept us from making trouble too.

Cute little buggers but they can do a lot of damage. At the end of the day we, and them, are trying to eat right?

Trapping gophers was my first job! Got a buck a tail from the farmers, and two bucks per tail from the county
