Sorry to hear that Mossy, good luck getting things on a more even keel.
I've run them, and now use them only for summer veggie grows in soil. I ran into nute buildup/balance issues later in every MJ grow and had to use gallons and gallons of nute mix to flush them back to some semblance of health. And yes, I know about the salts in the tops of the pots, but when shit goes seriously sideways, the medium has to be fixed if it can be done. The other issues I have with autopots is that I think that they sometimes keep the medium too wet for some genetics, and the valves can screw up with leaking or getting plugged. Don't even think of trying them with organic nutes, plugged valves and or flooding are likely results.
As others mentioned, it ain't the pots, its how you use them and what you are using for genetics. I have made big plants in every medium I have used, and have had a few smaller ones in every medium. However, for me coco and top fertigation with salt nutes is easiest and most reliable, as well as a lot easier to correct if something goes wrong. Just my 2c, others here like autopots and get reasonable results.
