I do not wanna get my asked kicked by any marines, but my dad was in the navy '50-'54, and told me they kept marines on his carrier just for the purpose of buttoning their trousers for them. His words, not mine.
That reminds me of my uncle in Michigan! Dude has marine tattoos all over and is the president of a VFO location but his military career lasted 1 day! No bullshit on day 2 his mom showed up at the boot camp and pulled some shit and got him withdrew from the military that day! My son-in-law was a corpsman in the navy, never did a day on a ship. He was attached to marine units in Iraq and Afghanistan.I was in the navy…..but I did do one particularly long deployment with the army..(five others with the navy)
I lost contact with both but had 2 of my best buds from elementary thru high school go into the navy! 1 of them went into the nuclear submarine program of something to do with them subs and haven’t heard from him since! The other is the asshole that got me arrested for his weed when he hid it in my glove box so stopped talking to him that day!
