Quick question -

So my asshole cat has had 2 UTI's in 6 months. And he's peeing again not in his litter box. Today I caught him peeing on top of my grow tent, into the hole where you can put the fan exhaust hose through. He peed on there and it dripped down and dripped on one of my live plants.

Ugh.

So, he's at the vet getting held overnight so they can check him out and see whats wrong.

And, I have a plant covered in cat piss.

They are in early early flower, white stamins. Can I just rinse it really well with a hose?
Just spray it down with regular dechlorinated water. The sooner the better, but it's not going to hurt them in the long run if you take care of it quickly.
So I guess this male cat's been neutered. UTI's are much more common in male neutered cats. UTI in cats is just as serious/dangerous as it is with humans, with a human that ignores the affection. Cats cannot tell you that something might be going wrong, just like an elderly person with dementia.
I think the pissing in strange areas comes from the pain that they felt when the infection was strong and they had to pee. I think, psychologically, they associate the litter box with the pain.

I dunked it in a 5 gallon bucket of water and swished it around a bit. So I think it will be fine.

He is at the vet overnight, they need him to pee so they can collect some of it and then look at it to see what bacteria it is or if there are crystals.

You might want to ask the vet about his diet. There are some things you can do to help prevent him getting back in the same condition. Older cats don't tend to take this too well. Both physically and mentally. If he's an older cat, he may never pee appropriately again. You may have to change the litter box, the litter and the location to help him disassociate going to the potty with the pain. Maybe that along with the diet change you might get your cat back.

Males are more susceptible to UTI because they tend to drag....for lack of better terminology....sheath through the litter.
