This has me chuckling. Mostly clean and fresh with all the rain. The Mosses, lichens, and fungi are very happy. The smells of summer are completely gone. No more Labrador tea waffling up under foot. No more heated spruce resin. No more Alaska spirea. No more roses. No more Balsam poplar. In places a strong whiff of molds and vegetative decomp, sometimes blending with moose

We still need rain to take the dust down..... when the farmers plough the fields there is a 30ft high dust cloud behind them thick enough to be woodsmoke.

We need a good thunder.

Summer is scorched earth season...plants die off... then come the rains and everything comes back to life....... resurrection season.

Anyway, he wants to build a habit of working out so we talk a lot about that.

Exercise is so much easier with a like minded soul....
