I honestly think it is our persistent sea wind that lets me grow off season without them dampening off....:pass:...

I'm gonna ride a train into Dallas!
Last time I rode a train into Dallas was 1957, to spend the summer with grandparents. From Connecticut to NYC to Dallas took days, and required an overnight in Chicago, but as kids we loved it. I remember being amused that when you looked down the toilet you could see the railroad ties zipping by below. In the 1980s Amtrak got sued when a train headed for Key West shat on some fishermen in a boat under a bridge in the Florida Keys. Since then trains have had sewage holding tanks.

Yay!

:yay::yay::yay::yay:

I made it through the day

I got what I wanted to do yesterday and did purchase the new to me truck . The road getting there was kinda rocky . The rocky part was dealing with the frigging bank ! :face:

I knew that my ATM withdrawal had a limit, so first thing in the morning I called Wells Fargo to get it temporary raised, as I have done in the past. Wells Fargo has changed their system when you call them on the phone. It literally takes three minutes before you're able to choose to speak to a human. And with the two conversations I had with them along with overhearing my buddy's conversation with them, I have come to a conclusion that they have outsourced their first level contact to some other country where English is not their first language. They may speak well, but they do not comprehend worth a damn! With my second conversation with them, I thought It had been set up with the raised limits. I specifically asked the person an exact question on how I would withdrawl the amount and they said yes..................TWICE......because I asked the same question again.

NOPE! Didn't work!:gassy::grrr1:

So I just sent money to my buddy that was helping me thru Zelle. He had to get his limits raised, lower than my limit, and I heard the convo. Exact same level of non comprehension!:grump:

I did get to buy the truck! It's a very good and solid truck. It is as bare bones as an 04 gets, with air conditioning seemingly being the only option. STRONG little 4cyl 2.3l Ford engine that was supposedly rebuild 60K ago, 200K on the truck. I don't doubt that because it's too strong for 200,000 mile truck.
The fuel Gage doesn't function, the tires are shot and just before I get to the highway, it pops a check engine light. I left my scanner in the Crown Vic. :face::gassy:

It's definitely not anything major. as it ran perfectly fine. It wanted to run and I had to watch my speed. First car or truck that I bought without cruise control, since buying a Torino GT in Hawaii for the Old Lady.

I made it back to my buddy's house fine. I'm leaving it there until I can pick it up, probably Friday. As soon as we got back and the kids saw us, they just had to get in the back of the truck. That brightened my day, as I can remember the first time I got to jump in the back of Dad's pick up.

Buddy texted, I'm gonna have to buy a truck now!

With a sick wife, I couldn't ask him to drive my other vehicle home..

I've got a nice little adventure semi planned out. Best thing about it is, I get to do something I hadn't done since I guess six or 7 years old . I'm gonna ride a train into Dallas! Yeah some of you people will say big deal, but it's just not that common here.

Now I will have no excuse not to get the Crown Victoria fixed up! :face: :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha:

Funny, you bought an ‘04 yesterday, and I’m selling an ‘04 today :smokeit:

I sent my '04 RAM 1500 Crew Cab to the junkyard during Covid, after it sat in my driveway with a burnt-out transmission for a couple of years. The rust stains on my concrete are starting to fade.

I’m luckily selling mine before it costs me anything major :headbang:
