I was just thinking that, corn has to be big business.
Ya and farmers are already struggling due to tariffs other countries have put onto US produce in retaliation! And i think it was that refineries had the mandate removed that they had to make a certain amount of ethanol from corn so lots of places stopped buying the corn altogether!

Jar of bud...packet of tobacco..rolling tin and papers already packed.....and a tub of dog biscuits...

Flipping heck... hubby has just had a government warning on his phone...if you are on low ground.. Evacuate
And if you are in a two story house...move up to the top floor... .

Amber rain/storm warning tonight...Red warning from 10 am tomorrow......looks like we need an emergency bag packed for the house...just incase.

They have done a lot of work on the agricultural canals and the river since we last flooded...but you never really Know it works until it hits if it's good enough... :headbang:

We are going up to the house tomorrow morning to check we have gas etc before 10am...so if I'm late..or If I go radio silent for a few days.. we'll be up at the house.. without the net...:pass:

I've got me #FingersCrossed they are being over cautious after being accused of not putting info out in time after last years fiasco when a load of people died.

o....k....but if the storm warning is tonite, why wait til tomorrow to go to the house-? seemz to me it'd be better to go today or this evening, jus in case, cuz u know as well as i that the warning could change to red way earlier than what they're sayin....i mean, jus sayin  ppp

Be safe Auntie!!!!

After listening to all your reports over these years, Those are some strange weather patterns in Spain where you are!

I think they are pretty much the same as tornadoes... :headbang:..the air cools down..the sea is still warm ..so they create a Gota Fria..big storm.

They happen every year..the University of Alicante does big studies on them...but it doesn't help if you are underneath one..

Last time we flooded was a Red warning...our yard was ankle deep...but a reservoir 7 miles in land was in danger of bursting the dam...so they had to let it go on us...or it would have brought the infrastructure with it...so we got 4.5 ft of water ..flooded for a week... everything was fooked.......

Fingers crossed they have learned a lesson...hubby says the canals are running high...so we are hoping they are emptying some of the water off in preparation for tomorrow..:pass:..

Yellow warning tonight...and we get quite a few of them...so we'd be back and forward like yo-yos...Red from 10 am tomorrow.

Our measure is if the canal starts to overflow..we are outta here.. :headbang: ...
