There's a german saying which is not directly translatable... "Wer den Schaden hat braucht für den Spott nicht zu sorgen."
It goes in the direction of "The laugh is always on the loser."

More in the sense of if you are afflicted with any kind of problem or deviation from "normal", there will always be people mocking you... xD
