Here’s what I learned when I had it…( get rid of the omeprazole asap)….
We get chronic acid reflux because our gut is populated with bad bacteria, which produce acid as a byproduct. These bacteria feed on sugars….
By repopulating with good bacteria, the bad bacteria get out competed and eventually die off. If you’re having bad issues you gotta really go for it.
Cut the sugar way down, drink kombucha daily if you can afford it (4 ounces is good, 8 is better). Also, have a scoop or two of probiotic yogurt a week (more is ok….greek yogurt is good)…. And occasionally have real kimchi or sour kraut, or other fermented veggies. This will repopulate your gut with a variety of good bacteria. Once you start feeling better, you can cut way back… usually a few 16 ounce bottles of kombucha a month is fine….unless I go all Willy Nilly on the sweets and booze again….
