I’ll only speak for myself. First and foremost bottom lighting adds heat to the tent so I can achieve a more optimum VPD. I don’t heavily strip my canopy so very little light makes it below. In my case I’m not pushing the genetics but rather giving them the best environmental conditions I can. When we are away from the house it is kept at 68 degrees. Below is a snapshot I just took with both lights on at 68 degrees.
Until two days ago I ran a Mars 100W to keep the tent at 80 degrees. I drop the temp when I get to day 50 to preserve terps.
If temps get hot in the spring I turn off the bottom light with my Govee remotely. I will say by my results without a doubt increases my yield and doesn’t reduce quality at all.
