Hey folks,

My local, well I say local, nothings close by as I live in the middle of everything but miles away from anywhere, anyways, a hydro store close by has a 125w CFL grow light (am I correct in thin king dual spectrum, its been a while since i visited last) with reflector for £45, £25 for the bulb and £19.99 for the reflector.

My question is this, I'm only working with a space of 1mx0.5mx0.5m (ish) so looking at the space, with some clever LST'ing I'd be able to grow 4/5 plants.
I can buy this 125w lamp but for an extra £15 I can upgrade it to a 250w.

Is 250w overkill for this amount of space and for such a small amount of plants??

Can 125w handle that amount of space and so many plants??

I know they are two completely different questions but I feel there's just not quite enough space for a 250w and a few too many plants for a 125w?!

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

New plants when they arrive will be placed under 30w cfl's for their first week or two so I have some time to decide but I feel a little lost.

Peace

Hi RivalFish,

Like SCARHOLE says, the more the better with CFLs. They are economic to run, don't give off much heat (I use a fan & temps around 75-80) & they work fine...

I've got 4 (2x 105w 2700k veg/flower, 1x 105w seed/veg, 1x 125w 6500k seed/veg) I'ts like a lighthouse in my grow box but the plants like it!

I'm on another forum & there is a guy who uses the 250w CFLs & his plants are amazing!
