Yikes....

well, the tent is 40x40x120 cm (16x16x47in) so I'm hoping that it will do for now. After the lowryder a are done I'll look into getting some lights from the uk (around $150 without shipping and new plug costs).

pop22, I don't feel confident enough about LEDs to buy there yet.

Have a look at the Vipar thread on here, one of the 5w 360w(210w actual) COB C series would set you back £89 with a years warranty and provide you with great lighting for that size tent!

Are those Imperial watts or something? That seems like an awesome deal.....that's $150 USD.....

I'll try to go through the thread soon, thanks!

Ran a quick check on eBay, and could only find one person selling this model, from the US though. $178 (£105) with postage, $238 with import tolls and fees, if it gets caught in customs (£140) :/

Update: the viparled seller doesn't ship to my country :( thanks anyway

Update:

Decided that I might as well do things right and talked to Vipar and they offered me a 360w for a total of £150, which was steep but considering that a 90w in this country goes for the same amount I decided to go for it.

I'll be back this week with info about the new setup as it arrives. Thanks everyone :)

Nice one mate, I actually thought you were in the UK :) I think that's their latest model they've released, they have one up for auction on ebay but no more listed.
I can't help wanting their new 1000w COB unit!

Nah, undisclosed EU country, not too keen on the herb if that's any hint at all. Hehe. A 1000w cob would be grand. As well on the electricity bill.

--------------

Since my new equipment will arrive this week, I have a question, whose answer might relieve some stress when the gear arrives.

As for now, the plants have been transplanted from plastic cups into these 2.5g (10l) buckets with holes I drilled. They are awful at drying out and also too big for my tent. So, part of my gear was three 1.5g (6l) airpots.

How would best go about transplanting these fragile plants from a huge bucket into the airpots? (Yes, I have a trowel). Haven't found any good guides on this type of transplant online.

Thanks in advance, and might I add again how pleased I am with finding this community. I am not a super fan of pot culture, and you guys seem to be serious, helpful, and nice in contrast to some other places I've looked for info. Okay, enough brown nosing from me. Cheers!

Subquestion: Should I also line the bottom of the airpots with Leca like I did with the buckets?

I wish I had good advice on the transplant, alas anything I told you would be a flat-out guess, and not very useful. I will say, however, that you'll like the airpots...a little more work as they dry out pretty quick, but they are very conducive to root health.

RE: Community/Pot Culture - AFN is a very supportive and positive community with an almost 100% absence of that ego-driven bluster and negativity. Good folks being good to each other. :) I will say though... "Pot Culture" is what we, as growers, make it :)
