Hi all!

First time poster and I am sorry for creating one more thread about Lucas formula but I just want to be sure :)

I have a homemade low pressure aeroponics system that turns into a DWC/Aeroponics hybrid once the roots hit the water. I also have a 240w Quantum Board light.

I have GHE FloraSeries trio at home, I also have GHE Calcium Magnesium Supplement, Hydroguard and some other stuff.

I have been reading a lot about Lucas Formula and I have searched the forums here. I find loads of suggestions that seem very good and I understand there is no definite answer.

I have just dropped two seeds into rockwool, one Fast-buds LSD-25 auto and one Fast-buds Girl Scout Cookies auto.

My question is, can somebody point me towards a Lucas Formula feeding chart that is modified for autoflowers?

Thanks! :)

Lucas was a great source of info for hydroponic growing, and definitely worth reading.

AskLucas.com used to be an archive of all his questions and answers. It's no longer around BUT you can view it using way back machine:

Lucas has not been active for a long time, so things have changed a lot... He was active before LED lighting and autoflowers were a thing.

If you read his writing about growing from seed he doesn't say much because he encourages growing from clones.

For young plants under flourecents he recommended 5/10 instead of 8/16 but these are not seedlings.

You could try starting with 1/2 or 2/4 and go from there. Personally i start very low on nutes because I find it easier to treat a deficiency than over fert.

If you have the GH trio, you would probably do fine with using the schedule on the bottles, starting at half strength or a little lower.

@Animatey, thanks for the info man. Much appreciated!

I tried to follow the GHE advised schedule on my last grow but being a newb I overdid it of course. This is why I am trying to find something more exact to follow :)

Generally what people recommend is start with half strength of what the bottle says, and then watch your plants. If they get too green, then start to back off. If they look OK you can slowly increase toward full strength. Anytime they start getting that dark, almost blue green it's time to reduce EC.

Since you are growing in active hydro there is a trick you can use to get the correct nutrient levels.

Basically you monitor your tds/ec and make sure it stays the same or drops slightly.

For example if your rez measures 500ppm when you fill it, the next day it should be 500 or a little lower. If it's 600 you need to reduce your feed until it levels out. If it's 400 increase your feed until it levels out.

So you raise or lower feed until the daily measurements of tds become consistent.

Try to avoid large swings in PPM/EC. This is the method @KsjAuto taught me years ago, and for active hydroponics it's the best way to keep your nutrient levels spot on.

There isn't a forumla that will fit all plants in all systems, but you cam figure out exactly what your tds level should be by monitoring your rez.

Good luck!
