Indoor Magic Dragon / New Cab

Ok , got some Magic Dragon seeds and decided I would play with them . at the same time I decided to put a new cabinet together to see how much a "cheap" grow would be for a friend of mine .

The cabinet is 15" x 25" inside diameter and 34" high inside . Took me a bit to get it where I wanted it . The middle shelf was part of the wall assembly so I had to cut out the center . The top was also cut out and a piece of sheetrock screwed down on top .

Inside was lined with medal film I have and also metal 3" tape .

intake /exhaust is pretty simple . I cut out 4 holes in the doors and put small vents in . The exhaust is an Attwood 4000 4" fan running at 12v . Used a walwart to power that .

The lights are a single bathroom light bar with 3 splitters . In the sockets are 2 @ 6700k bulbs ( 26 watt) and 4 @ 2700k ( 26 watts) . Total of 10.5k lumens .


Now the costs :

bulbs ........ 5 pack of the 2700k for $7 ... the 6700k were free
pots .69 apiece so $5.52

all the little stuff I already had laying around , so a total of $102 for the complete box.

Have 10 Magic Dragon seeds in root riot cubes and a few are already popping . Will be going into the cab shortly .

And so it begins . 3 Purple Ryders and 5 Magic Dragon to test this cabinet out .




Waiting until these get a few sets of leaves then teiring them into the square pots

5 days and the Magic Dragons have poppped their heads up and started their journey . Btw , soil is just Promix BX , worm castings , perlite , and a smidge of house compost .

Thanx Wiz . This is my little experiment to see what a low cost grow box can do , as well as what kind of Magic these Magic dragons hold .

Update:

Girls are looking good in my cheapo box . Did change the light to an 8 bulb strip instead of the 6 bulb . Also tiered them into my square pots . Stayed with smaller pots since the cab is not very tall .



Hoping they show sex in the next week or so . Keeping a male from this batch to use in a breeding project .

Update:

at the 3 week mark and narrowed down to 5 girls . 3 are going to be just standard grow . The one on the right has been getting the CS treatment and she/he will be used on one of the other girls in the box .

These girls seem to like to stay compact , but we will see if they take off .
