Hi guys Fuggzy here from the south east swamps. I'm rather new to growing in general, but it has become a hobby already. I have 1 harvest under my belt, and 6 more plants going atm. 3 inside, and 3 outside, all sativa dominant, and photos.

I do have 1 auto seedling outside, and will be dropping 2 more tomorrow. They are from Shaman Genetics. I got a mix pack so I'm not sure what to expect. These will be my 1st run with autos.

My current indoor setup is a micro cab with 143²" and a diy led fixture. Overpowered vent system, and has ~2.5 feet of head room. I also have a 4x2 tent that I am building a led fixture for. Besides seedling pots, most my pots are fabric, some are home made.

I use organic soil for my buds, and a veg garden. I'm still learning about some of the great techniques out there, but have a pretty good understanding of it. I make teas, and fpe/fpj, and sst to help my lovelies along.

I recently started a red worm bin. It has been pretty neat to watch the amount of food they can eat. The bin is not all that big yet, and only has ~2.5lbs of worms in it. Never the less, its cool to watch. I am also working on a project on creating biodiversity with free range casting. I got this from reading about using multiple rock dust (azomite, ballast, glacier, ect)in the soil mix. The idea is that if the worms all come from different environments (dominant trees, and plants) or in general have different diets, they will produce castings of variable content. Thus all of them adding something a lil' different to the soil. I currently collect CNC, or canadian nightcrawler (NOT ENC European Nightcrawlers)casting from 3 different locations, free range if you will. I also have casting from 2 vendors, 1 local, and 1 not. Plus my own worm bin, thats 6 varieties in total. Just some food for thought.

Thanks! I have to admit your name made me giggle. I look forward to learning about autos, and more on growing in general. There is no such thing as knowing to much. (as long as your not talking about a 3 letter acronym...shhh we know nothing)

I am not the most informed in regard to worms, but have a good understanding. I do have a great resource pool of info though. I would love to help other learn with or from me. I have a current journal on another site for the worms. I'm not sure how you guys feel about linking other grow sites. I could do a lil copy, a lil' paste, and a lil' editing to bring it here. If I get time tonight I'll see what I can get together. Any particular place I should start a thread? Organics section I'd guess.

I love the sati-dom strains, and looking forward to your grows.
A couple of things to keep in mind:
Autos can be sensitive to nutes, some strains more than others, so beware "hot" soils and feed with caution.
Outdoors, this time of year, you'll see reduced yields. Autos thrive under light, 20/4 and 18/6 are popular light/dark cycles.

Man I've never has a slap feel so warm and fuzzball like.

The soil I am using has been "overcooked". It was intended for photos, bagssed, to learn on, but it sat like 3x as long as needed. I got pretty sick and was on Dr. orders to stay inside for over a month just as it was ready. It happen to be durring our rainy season so it was moist at all times. I mixed a 2nd batch, cooked it, and mixed the 2. I also gave the soil a good amount of casting to help keep it active with a couple molasses feedings durring this sick period. As a first time grower (and broke)I was worried about losing the soil I just dropped a bunch of money on. I stuck out at night to mix the soils, wife didn't like that.

My wife was pissed btw. When I was not able to go outside, I brought it in. I have a scrap counter top about 7' long, and put it over the stove/counter area. I had about 6, 5 gallon buckets, my bin of compost and 4-5 large bags of amendments. My friends called it my lil' nursery. I set it up every morning, and broke down every night. I have a veg garden to think of too. Nothing died in this time frame!!!

I do understand about the autos going now not being in an optimal setting. I actually consider myself as an indoor grower with a want to go outdoors. In my neck of the swamps, it is better to be discreet. The main reason I popped them there is I REALLY want to be self sufficient. I am currently still buying my bags, and with my budget, mid is what I can afford. Contrary to a lot of "growers" beliefs, mid are a real thing.

Side note: Anything with a sliding scale (worst-best) has a middle ground. Mathematically it is called the medium, or average. (thats not directed at you, just how I feel before I get flamed for saying mids.... )

Speaking of Sat-doms... Any idea what turns a plants hairs pink/purple? The 3 that where in the yard where the same genetics, yet 1 has/had purple/pink stigma. The other 2 where just white top to bottom.

This girl had coloring to the top 3 bud sites up till about yesterday. It looked like a colored cored wrapped in a thin white layer. Best in the morning with the sun back lighting it. Didn't look to good in the photos. This morning I go out, and the purpel/pink has spread to almost every bud, lacking in the lower ones. It is also much easier to see, and photo.

This is a farther image, and still hard to see the color at this range.

She has not had the greatest life style. So disregard her condition please. She is 1 of 4 from my 1st "trial" grow. She has been topped, cropped, chopped, dropped, and flopped, and left for dead at the compost pile for a month ( while I was sick).... I healed up, and found the 4 discards flourishing. She is in an okay soil at best, but it is organic. Also not what I will be using from here out. I am curious though if her hairs are genetic, or due to the cooler nights the last week. The weather has been 68-70 at night, bottoming at 64F. I'm guessing genetics, as this is only cold to people around here, not the plants.
