Yes you read that right, I went to check on my 5 week old white widow autos and found a mouse chewing on the main stem of one just above the soil line.

It got about halfway through before I scared it off. The stem can still support the weight but I braced it just in case.

Does anyone have any advice on how to treat something like this?

The plant just entered preflower this week and I'd hate to lose it.

I's say just keep it dry and keep a breeze on it especially until the damaged part dries out and hardens up. Had an accident and took 2 branches off one myself. Selotaped them back on, they're healthy!

Trap that mouse or it will return I guarantee it! I lost several in two nights, thought I trapped em but there were 3... I would run a support along side or use a yo yo for the remainder of her life in case a fan or its accidentally bumped..

Put a snug, thin band of duct tape over the chew area. It's probably how mice make music. When I lived in the tropics, I used peanut butter and a piece of bacon in the trap and caught a bunch of those cute little crtitters.

Finally got the mouse, I braced the main stem and it seems no worse for ware, no signs that its dying so fingers crossed!
