Grow Mediums MassMom's Ongoing AutocCob, AutoPot, AutoFlower Adventure :-)

Wow look at the root on her! She’s going to be one to watch. I’m not one to know about potting up, but sometimes the plants speak to you, and I think this time she did.

I get the biggest kick out of the day 20ish and day 30ish comparison. They seem to go from barely more than a seedling to fucking plant!
I know, her sisters root was not as long. I pulled this one out and went holy crap!

Looking great. Looks like you have everything accounted for and at close to an ideal environment. Try for 60% RH if you can when you get the new humidifier. That should get you to a good VPD place and the plants will be really healthy as the veg and grow going forward.

Have you played with the moisture meter with the cow pots?
Yeah, trying to keep temps around 75 and humidity 60, but I have older humidifier on a timer. (new one was junk) so I am just doing the best I can for the little ladies. My new moisture meter should be here friday. I watered the pots when I put the root riots in, and wont water again until the pots are dry. Cant wait for the meter to come in.

Do you have a final pot ready? I don’t like to mess with the super sensitive tap root.
well, they are both sitting comfy in their cowpots for now, and I planned on getting the autopots ready this weekend for when the ladies are ready to go to their final home.

Since I was not able to get the Mephisto Amendment in time for this growI ordered something else. Natures Living Soil Autoflower Amendment came in the mail today. God I love it...its like Christmas!

This weekend I will get the autopots set up. 1 whole bag of the autoflower amendment mixed with Roots Organics in the bottom 1/3 (or so) of the autopot, then just roots organics on the top 2/3. (I have a bag of wiggle worm earthworm castings here, do you think it would hurt to add some to the roots organics on the top 2/3 of the pot?)

I have not watered ladies since they were put into the cowpots. They seem moist, and I WILL NOT OVER-WATER! Ladies still seem to small. I will update in a few days with their selfies.

No it shouldn’t hurt at all, worm castings are the best

Day 4:
Pots were dry when I lifted them up this afternoon, so both ladies got about 1/2C distilled water and recharge~ got a little runoff. I will not water again until pots are light again. Both babies are standing up nice and straight reaching up for cobs. Have my clip on fan set on low swaying the babies just a touch. Temps 75-79 and humidity 55-65. (Every time I open tent the RH takes a nose dive!) Going day by day but just seems so sloooooooooooooow.
:coffee2:

I feel your pain. The first two weeks and the last two weeks exist in a different time and dimension. It is like they are in a state of suspended animation. This is the most important time though. The first two weeks the roots are growing unseen. The last two weeks the buds are filling with trichomes and terpenes. It is just there is not much to see.

you are so right, the first couple of weeks you are like HURRY UP AND GROW, and the last few weeks you are like HURRY UP AND FINISH!
Poor babies, we are always telling them to rush when there IS so much going on that we just cant see.
I guess I am just scared that I will mess up this grow like the last one! I have a few grows under my belt, but things are so "twilight zone" here at the house that I cant seem to concentrate and give my growing the love and attention that it needs. I feel like I am starting from scratch.
:help:
I am sure all will work out in the end.

I don’t think extra worm castings would hurt at all. It’s harder to burn your plants with organic. The plants will just use what they need and if there’s excess so be it. No harm done.

I kinda like seedlings. They change so much but it does take awhile. Good job on the watering! Just get a little run off and then leave them be until they dry.
