My question is on yield and increasing it. It seems that some people are getting up to 20% yield with a press, about 10% with a tumbler, and 10% with an alcohol extraction and that is before winterization. My question is why is there so much more with a press than others. It seems like when I have pressed it left a lot in the bud. I understand that this can be then processed thru alcohol extraction to get more. With the tumbler, if doing whole buds, should you grind them for better yield then process again in alcohol? Should I leave them whole for a quick spin for the best of the best and then grind and put in alcohol. I guess what I am asking why is the press so much higher yield or am I missing something? What is the thinking on tumbling, and alcohol extraction?

The yield has more to do with the plant than the process. This does assume you know the process.

I press most of my bud and I routinely get between 14% to 18%. I have had runs as high as 27% a Zambeza Blueberry auto but that was a rare pheno. I do not count the sludge I make with the chips When I do a QWET run I get an unknown % because I don't weigh that stuff. It is mostly the Little buds off the bottoms of the plants and I just put them in a jar and throw them into the freezer until I have a bunch or Ms. MOG says it is time. I am not very motivated to do the QWET since I mostly do dabs and chocolates
