High Everyone,
I'm in the Final Phase of setting up my New Grow Tent & I'm having a little difficulty with my Max Fan Speed. I bought a 6" Max Fan which has a 3 Speed Controller on it already. It's connected to an 8" x 40" Phresh Filter via an 8" to 6" Reducer & Ducted out a window. I tried connecting my VenTech Variable Fan Speed Controller to the Max Fan but no matter what setting I put it on it doesn't seem to work right. The problem is: When the Max Fan is on Low with it's own speed control (Variable speed controller not hooked up) it still sucks the tent in quite a bit. I have a 4" Fan & Filter I'm running on High for Intake Air + I have the House A/C running into the tent + 3 - 6" Clip on Fans running at the same time & the Max Fan still sucks the tent in. Is there a special kind of Variable Fan Speed Controller you can buy for a Max Fan or does someone know how to slow this thing down a little more? I'm not overly concerned with it since it will only run 4 hours at lights out since I'm using Co2; but I'd still like to be able to use it as a Variable speed fan & not just a 3 Speed Fan. These Fans are in a 5' x 10' x 7' Tent. I'll be starting my 1st Grow Journal in about 7 - 10 days. 6-different Auto's, 2-different Photo's & 1- Re-Veg Photo Big Bud. I Veg the Photo's & Re-veg Plants till the Auto's are done & then flip to 12/12 for the 3 Photo's. With 8 - 10 weeks of Veg the Photo's will fill the tent during Flower. I'm new at journals so I hope I can make it interesting enough for you all.
In the mean time .... Any info on the Fan Speed Controller would be great !!!!! Thanks

I bought similar gear. That fan is LOUD so I went back for a speed controller.

The guy at the shop told me that the fan speed should be on high and to only use the speed controller to vary the airflow.

He also told me that any "wah wah" sound means that the fan is too slow for the filter.

Hope this helps.

Yeah, I tried it that way & ended up getting the wah wah you mentioned. Oh well, it's doing it's job.
