want to run 4 50 watt cobs off that driver
if I wire it all correctly is it safe to run on a standard outlet in a US home

I believe this is the driver I use, currently out to dinner, I'll check when I get home. I have 2 setups, a 4 cob 200 and a 5 cob 250. Will get back to you in a couple hours.

  1. I've got the 185 running the 4 @ 200, and the 240 running 5 @ 250.

Really going to depend on the voltage requirements for the cobs you choose, driving at 1050ma will keep the efficiency on point.

This is the tutorial I followed recently (this one is specifically for 4 50 watt cobs) :

https://ledgardener.com/build-led-grow-light/

I watched all the videos first, it helped a lot.

I used this tool to help me choose a driver and cobs:

https://ledgardener.com/cob-led-driver-selection-tool/

Meanwell drivers are probably the most widely used when building a cob light. Never heard of anyone having an issue with one. Good luck whatever you choose!

my cobs are clu 48 1212 I have a total of 8. I only plan using 4 on the this driver unless 6 on it is doable without burning my place down
thanks for looking

Using the tool I linked, I was able to find that a Mean Well HLG-185H-C1400 would work for 4 of those clu 48 1212 wired in series for a total max wattage of 200.
I already have my driver its name of my thread and already have lights. I was wanting to be sure my driver was safe for a standard US outlet
I do appericate all input
