Grow Mediums Mephisto Fantasmo Express & Chem de la Chem

You need to remove leafs from the CDLC... I remove a lot of it..

Yeah, I've been defoliating her quite a bit. You can't really tell from the picture but I started at the bottom and have slowly working my way up. Not trying to take to much in a day. The CDLC was a perfect candidate for some training. It seems to have really payed off. She's frosty as shit already and is going to produce some nice dense flowers.

Yeah, I use RO water so cal/mag are nutrients I use in my regular feed schedule. This is my first time in coco and Ive learned I need much more cal/mag than i did with soil. And yes I was using an Epsom salt foliar spray to address the deficiency in the Fantasmo. I plan to use the foliar spray as a preventive measure for the next grow. It's been a learning curve with the AUTOPOT with one res for both plants, but I think I've figured it out a plan to address that. Also this is my first time using Heavy nutrients and trying to figure out a happy balance for two different plants. I'm at day 50ish right now, so for now I've removed the aquavalve in the Fantasmo and am manually adding a different nutrient solution to her tray. I can add 600ml of nutrients 2 times a day and keep her fed. It's a pain in the ass but it seems to be working. Next time I'll just add a 2nd res and use it if things get too far off. I'm just pissed I f**ked up the Fantasmo......that girl has bud sites everywhere. They will definitely not produce like they would if she was happy. Live and learn, I guess ill have more flower to play with for tinctures or edibles.
Just grab a 5 gallon bucket and one of those top hat grommets and make a quick reservoir. I have several of these for inside in the tents and outside in the greenhouse. Works great in a pinch.

Day 55
Fantasmo still looks like shit but isn't getting any worse. I upped the base nutrients on her to 8ml/gal so she should be getting enough food. I think she's too far gone to produce anything worthwhile. Part of me wants to get rid of her so I don't have to trim her up. I'll keep her and see what happens and try and figure out where I went wrong. She's definitely going to become some bubble hash.
CDLC is still pretty dark but she's just sipping nutrients. She's at 4ml/gal of heavy, 2ml/L ProCal 1ml/L Overdrive 2ml/L Boost. I think she may be a little overfeed but the dark green leaves seem to be genetics more than anything. I could be wrong. I've removed so many leafs from her in the last 2 weeks and shes quite a bit more open now. Time to sit back and watch her buds fatten up.

Day 64

Started flushing plants yesterday. Fantasmo still looks like crap but will produce a decent harvest. I still plan to make bubble hash with her. She's still so light that I don't think I'll have to flush her to long. CDLC is still pretty green even though I've been feeding her basically nothing. She probably has a 10-15 days left. I'll post some pictures this weekend.
On a side note, I picked up the HGL 260W quantum board kit. This thing is bright! I plan on setting it up and trying it out for the next grow.

i kept my Chem on low feeds and she remained notably darker than my other plants. did she chunk up some more the past week?

Yeah, she's fattening up and frosty as hell. She's going to be a good one. Wish she was bit bigger but Im still happy with her. Not sure what happened with the Fantasmo as this is my first time using Heavy 16. I'll make some adjustments for the next one and see how it goes.

 Fantasmo looks lovely to me, like a bit of colour in the leaves. she's in her 60's after all.

CDLC is a stinky girl, eh? mine was very synthetic/plastic/rubber, like opening a new box of Nikes

So what do you guys think?...... frozen fresh vs dry flower for bubble hash? I've always use dried cured flower but have read some interesting things about using frozen fresh flowers. I think it's one of those super debatable cannabis related topics. I might give that a go this time and see how it turns out.

We have always done dried/cured and frozen, but we have so much to process that trying to freeze all that fresh we would be out of freezer space in no time. Some of the local growers throw me all their trim because they don’t want to deal with it. We take an entire day and with a mini washing machine we process until we run out of ice. Last run we produced right around 180 grams after proper drying.
