They are more expensive at monstergardens.com - i think monster gardens is reputable. I watched a video they had a hoods/reflectors and they seem like honest people. They have a shop in California where they sell stuff in store. They also said in the video they don't sell stuff they don't believe in. As in if they wouldn't use it, they won't sell it. They were talking about a reflector though.
I don't want to buy some 2nd hand product though. If the catalog is from eye hortilux, or whatever then the prices are likely jacked up. Companies who make products sell them for higher than the stores they sell to because of they didn't then the stores would obviously not buy their product as everyone would just go to the direct source. I went to Hydrofarm.com to look at bulbs and the MSRP is really high. I'm not even sure if I could order from there anyways.
I'm just worried I would buy one from a factory that didn't pass the quality check. Growing and possession is illegal where I live and I don't want to go to a hydro store. I did when I bought my setup but I drove to another state to buy it. Just heard to much about people going to hydro stores and getting their door kicked in just based on the fact that they went there.
There is a news story some where a guy went to a hydro store and a state police officer observed them and then they went and kicked in the door only to find tomatos...

I thought they were a product from China cause of the name lol. I was just thinking "Does it really fucking matter what brand I use?" I asked myself this because I plan to buy a new one every grow, or every two to three months. I don't think it matters what brand I buy as long as it isn't totally crap. My XtraSun bulbs seem to be fine. It's a hydrofarm brand and everything that I have bought from them so far seems to be good quality, it also came with my hood/ballast setup, I've had no problem with them so far.
