So for this update, let’s start with the veg chamber. All is well for the most part. I gave away the tooted cutting I had of the purple punch OG, and thought I had the other cutting rooted. Turns out that I def did not have it rooted. Ended up tossing that one, but received a cutting from a friend of a short and dense indica that he is growing outdoors. During a storm, a piece had broke off, he got it rooted and decided to keep that piece indoors. Took a shoot off of it and waiting for it to root. Should just be a matter of time.
I decided it was time to go ahead and defoliate another round on the photos in the veg box. Practically schwazzied em this time, but I’m hoping the light penetration will help out with the lower bud growth during the next 6 weeks. I took some before and after pics of the thinning out. I would say that it made a huge difference. I also LST’d and supercropped a few more of the taller shoots for a completely even canopy at this point.

went ahead and took some pics of an individual bud from each strain.def getting frosty and I’m starting to see some red hairs in some of the buds.

All is well in the box. Really just a waiting game at this point. Topped off all the containers with sand. I was having a moisture gnat issue and felt like this might be my best solution for now. I’ll give it some time and see if the gnat situation improves any.

Last night, I decided to start the germination process with the only three “querkle x durrty dragon” seeds I have. I’m hoping the do something. I’m also hoping that I get at least one male and one female. That will allow me to pheno hunt through the f2’s.
This was a strain I started so long ago and would love for it to work. I was unaware of the passing of subcool when I got back into growing. Querkle being the first strain I was gonna purchase, I learned that they weren’t being produced anymore due to his passing. Kinda broke my heart, tbh. I didn’t know him personally, but the strains he put out were very influential on me growing in general.
If I could pull the querkle pheno out at some point, I’d be thrilled. At this point, it’s all based on if these seeds were stored properly by a buddy that they were sent to years ago.

So, bad news on the seeds that were germing. After a week, nothing at all. Decided to scrap em and move on to focusing on the cuttings and rooting them.
veg chamber is definitely looking full. Took a bunch of cuttings while trimming up the micro mothers.i currently have 7 dif strains completely rooted. A couple have been going since the beginning of this grow while others have been added, but I haven’t added a new strain in awhile.
speaking of seeds germing, the seeds for my Quirrky dragon project unfortunately never got going. Luckily, I do have a lot of seeds and a couple crosses I can work on already.
the flower chamber is honestly about as full as I could want it. I think height is pretty good. My biggest complaint is maybe defoliation a little too hard and a little too early. I had the idea of light penetration being more important than fan leaves too esrly
On in flowering and I feel like it has affected the buds from being robust as possible. Either way, they are frosty as all hell and I have no complaints with the terps they are producing.
