Thanks for all the great replies people, Chester that one looks awesome, (unfortunately I dropped a lava lamp on my laptop so that thing is shot lol, I wonder if there is a plug in version.) I'm still holding off as my plants are small atm so you guys have given me great choices.

I have a mini handheld $5 cheapie one and a nice 20X-400X Veho with pics and video.(gift not sure of cost) The handheld works fine, and does the more expensive one that hooks up to the laptop. Pain in the ass to get the nice one setup for 6' tall buds though...trying to jerry rig a tripod connection.

This is the universal 60x-200x type clip on that I ordered:

Unfortunately, I can't recommend one of these. Really hard to get the spot you need lined up with the lens on my phones camera, and then the whole rig is so unstable and easy to slide out of position it makes it almost impossible to get anything steady. After about 15min of futzing around with it, I found that if you set it right on whatever you wanted to look at you could almost get a steady image. Since I need to be able to hold it up to the plant, and can't really lay the plant down on a solid surface to steady everything, this won't work for me. Also, the LED lights are a little to direct and close so tend to wash out what you're trying to see. Maybe with another model phone (I've got an iPhone 4 I was testing with), or with one of the specific to the phone ones that have the clip on case to hold the lens in position it might work better. Or someone with amazing rock steady hands might do better than I. This is the best shot I was able to get after trying for around 5-10 minutes with a bud taken out of a curing jar laying on the table:
