New Grower Molasses

Do I have to use blackstap or will any unsulphered molasses work. I have read that it is only useful during flowering? Is this true and if I use it do I need to cut back on any other nutes? I have only seen that besides sugars it adds potassium. I am a little concerned because here in south Florida if you leave anything sweet out on your counters it is ant city the next day.

Again I want to tell everyone thanks for all the help that I have received. I will hold my first few puffs in a few seconds longer in your honor.

Hey, It is better to use black strap but any unsuphered will work. Use 1tbsp molasses per gallon of water start feeding plant molasses late veg through till start of flush its beneficial for sugar development in the plant which results in better trichome development I use it also. And I have also found that if I give my little ones 3-4 days dark after I flush before cut they sugar up real nice. Hope this helps

Molasses works the best for organic grows because it feeds the microbes that break down the organic matter that feeds the roots.It contains potassium,calcium,magniesium,and ironyhat benefit the plant growth.It can also be used in a chemical grow but mainly for it's nute content.There is no need to cut back on your reg nutes. If your worried about ants just make sure you clean the bottle off with warm water to remove any mollassis.

Hi Guy!

Do I remember correctly that you're supplementing with cal-mag? I was, and I added blackstrap molasses. Not for sure, but my gut says it was the cause of some nute burn. Just a heads up…. I'm way too new to this to be a source of credible info :smoke:

Thanks everyone. Jenny, that was my question, I had read about some cal/mag issues but it wasn't on AFN so I was leary. I will stop the cal/mag and go molasses or alternate.

I use the grandmas brand. Never burned my plants or anything. Im on my second set and have yet to have any cal mag issues. So I guess it works I also add epsom salt as well. Other nutes I use are bio bizz grow and bloom. Just a lil input since I use it.
