I'll give you a like for that, but I'm not a guy LOL. I think all of us growers are in the same boat, if our spouses aren't involved we're always going to get "the strange look"!

Just tell her it is therapeutic for you..You enjoy growing as a hobby just as someone likes sewing,cooking etc..It is something you stumbled upon on the internet,seen many people doing it and enjoying it and wanted to see what all the fuss was about...It's a great hobby that builds patience and understanding..It also hurts no one and makes you happy...Some of the smartest,most generous people I've come across are on this site.

You could always say you enjoy the Japanese mud art of dorodango

Last year, a friend I really love was visiting, so I went to show her my beautiful worms to share my heart's contentment with her ...
As I opened the bin, she took a quite a few steps back in disgust, never mind sharing that part of my life with her haha
Can't win em all, and some will come round with time and your continued enthusiasm

After all, we were brought up in a spirit of making sure not one last microbe was left alive on our foods etc., that kind of brainwashing does stick too!
