Thanks Krum appreciate it. So the cuts are made into the lid of the tote am I correct? And this would work without a air pump?
yeah, I cut them out of there with a dremel. That is probably one of the neater ways to do it unless you have one of those bits that will do a 2 inch wide hole. The plastic is kinda thick so I wouldn't recommend doing it with household knives or scissors unless you're very careful.

I've seen a lot of talk on here as to whether or not a pump does anything at all. It seems like my roots stay a little healthier with the pump. At this point, I'm keeping mine in the setup. However, I think for the person just getting started, the pump can be one of the very last things added because your root system isn't going to be very substantial until around the 4th week of grow.

Great write Up, Krum, thanks a millioN. That's a great method for us small closet growers, definitely be interesting for me. GV

Brilliant tutorial, you've inspired me :)

Can you recommend good strains for growing in party cups ?

Thanks,

nibs.

I've found a good strain now, do the roots come out of the holes in the cup at all ?

Awesome TEK or tutorial as I know them! Amazing results out of a party cup also! Thinking about trying this myself sometime! Thanks.

Yes, roots grow out of some of the holes in the cup. The root growth you allow is in direct proportion to the overall size of the plant. If you don't allow for good root growth, you will get small plants. Which isn't necessarily bad if you're trying to keep it compact.

that was a great read m8 I love the way there are so many ways we can grow this wonderful plant AWSOME!
