New Grower My 2nd grow

The girls have been given their first feed.

I was gifted some floranova nutrients and have given the girls their first feed. I diluted the floranova grow 500 to 1 (4mls in a 2l bottle). Neither plant was very thirsty and the bigger one got about 400mls, the smaller about 100. The rest of the bottle is waiting for their next watering.

The larger girl [short stuff auto-assassin] has been vegging strongly and growing vertically rapidly. The small girlie [a sweet seeds cream caramel] seems fine - she was germinated around 14 days later which is why she is so much smaller. If the auto assassin keeps growing vertically I might give her a mixed feed of grow and bloom) to encourage flowering and stop the vertical growth.

Any suggestions to improve the technique?

Looking great your girls mate.. I use grow and bloom all through the grow but obviously a lower does of grow during the flower period.. I got the idea from Agito and this time round my plants are huge and lush check them out if you want mate.. :peace: Si

Not a good idea, especially if they are organic nutes. Always mix fresh nutes for every feeding. I once killed two plants by feeding them organic nutrients I had let sit for a couple of days.

The rest of the bottle is waiting for their next watering.

I forgot to say the same about the organic nutes... if you leave them sat in the bottle to feed ur girls it can go realy funny. i did it with mine at first and then realised it was like it went off lol

She has grown more than I expected - hwat to do

I am a novice and am working on my little experience and knowledge gained from sages like Muddy. My first grow was stunted but these girls have had a better introduction to life - the larger [an auto-assassin] is growing higher than expected. This is now a problem as my grow cabinet is vertically constrained!

I am planning on moving the plants and removing the fan and then giving a flower feed to the larger plant which is now taking around a litre at each watering. I expect the flower feed to help end the vertical growth but might have to do some training. The smaller plant [cream caramel] will have less light so I may need to add a small CFL to aid things.

All advice appreciated

My 2nd grow - another week

Not much to say other than one plant has out grown the box. I have done some training to keep things under control but things could have been better. The cream caramel has been getting the same flowering juice for the last few waterings so hopefully will not grow too much more.

The baby will have more love!

Another week

Another week has gone by. The girls have grown bigger & taller than expected and are revealing flaws in the design used [another thread on another day]. They have had some sideways training and the older plant has been topped as she grewto tall. They are 7 and 5 weeks old respectively, left to right.

They have had a few floranova bloom fields and may have 1 or 2 more - they are currently taking a lot of liquid. I have changed the light cycle to 12-12 to encourage flowering.

I would advise against dropping your lights to 12/12. You've got plenty of pre flowers and are at the point where they should go into full flower. Dropping to 12/12 will reduce your yields significantly. 12/12 for autos is only needed if they don't flower.
