On Friday I started germination on my first grow. I chose Sweet Seeds Sweet Fast Bud for my first grow. I ordered my seeds from Herbies and it took eight days to get to my house(not bad). I did order the first sweet bud but they wind up sending me #2 instead. I figured since I'm learning I wanted to experiment a little, so I started out germinating one seed by water and one seed by wet paper towel. I am using plain tap water in both instances. Well it is now 4 am and an hour ago I checked the seeds and the paper towel one (Sheila) rooted and the water one (Sade) ( I left in for 24 hours then put it in paper towel) has yet to root. I went on and planted both in peat pellets. There is no heat in my house so I used hot water bottles, filled them up with hot water and placed them next to the girls for some heat in my closet. I know that patience is not my thing but after my first germination disaster I have surely developed some very fast!!! So mates I'm gonna leave them alone for 48 hours just change out the hot water bottles about every six hours or so and that's it!!!
I have decided that along with the cfls i'm using that I would have our friend Mr. sun whip these girls into shape once they are in the veggie stage. I have decided to use the hempy hydro system that I learned about on this site. I have some perlite, some peat pellets, the general hydroponics flora series: micro,grow and bloom. I have 4 lamps, three 6500k lights and 4 2700k lights both 23 watts equal to 100 watts incandescent. I also picked up some pH up and down and some pH testers. I have 2 two gallon buckets, both have a hole 2 inches up from the bottom with some screen to hold in the perlite.
I am so excited. I have been wanting to do this since last year and finally I started. I cleared out my bedroom where the closet is that i am using to grow so that during the day if i want to (when the sun permits) i can let my girls out and get some sunlight. My closet is so small that I cannot get a fan in there so I am using the whole room so that I can get some air going in there. I have an air conditioner and some strong odor killers. so i think I am set for a while.
I will be posting pics of my grow room and plants as soon as they reach the seedling stage.
I am not smoking til my stuff grow cause I'm putting my pot smoking money into growing and plus I'm trying to get this other job.
