New Grower My first grow ever!

Cannabis Seeds
:) thanks longcanon! soon my friend they will be dried and cured then smoked but for now I will just try to keep them alive and healthy!

Just checked pics. Beautiful! I know the smoke report will be fun to read. They look real good and their Daddy should be proud.

Well I ran into a hiccup that decided to have me push to start running clean water through my plants. My pH pen died on me, and I cannot get a replacement for a little while. I used some pH testing drops that I knew would be difficult and inaccurate, but enough to let me finish them out. Here are some pictures of the two. The shorter one is a square when looked at from above with a large central cola and smaller buds coming off in the like points on a compass. I am bad at describing smells but it is very pungent, maybe musty? She was and is a very hearty plant that was a pleasure to work with.

The taller lady really made me stress some. She kept getting light brown spots that I am not sure if it was a cal mag thing or pH or some of both. I was able to keep her going and for what I was thinking about the smaller bud sites before, wow was I wrong they fattened right up. They are very young both will finish just after 60 days, but that is partially due to new grower things, and my pen going to the other side.

Enjoy the pics, I will take a bunch more on harvest day for you to check out! I have my drying closet set up, I will put a few pics of that too in the future. The temp goes from 63-68 degrees (F) and rh is 45-50%

There are many people I need to thank for all their help so far, Muddy is a big thank you, Kindred spirit, Virgina gent, low and slow, namvet, Hazy, gotgreen, stylez, Jm, and everyone else that jumped in to say hi, keep the vibe mellow, and helped in any way! This has felt like a rewarding grow that I was able to learn from and have some good looking/smelling bud to reward the work with. I will have another grow going after I clean everything top to bottom and get another pen. I was able to locate a 4 or 5 filter RO system from my brother in law for $50, but I need to get new filters for it. I will be changing over to the ph perfect sensi-grow and bloom nutes after I get that done, but I need to buy some essentials first, hanna combo meter is top on it too. Well I have rambled for enough talk to you all later!

Great job! I am still two or three weeks behind you but I don't think I have done as well. Following your grow has helped me and I thank you. Mine are just starting to get some brown in the buds and unless they fatten more I am guessing a 4oz crop from 5 plants. The sativas' topped out at 25in but the akr indica only made it to 15in. It's been a good learning grow and I have had a lot of fun. We all will be looking for your smoke report.

Thanks virginia gent! I am glad that my grow has helped you with yours! This site is a great resource for like minded people to get together and learn from each other's experiences, and I will be hoping for your buds to fatten up some more and get some heft! I love how there is a good amount of tentative scheduling with growing, keeps it exciting well we will see how the plants come along! =)

Last night I took them down after a long day of famlily parties and being on the road. The taller plant had a very sweet grapefruit aroma and frequently gummed my scissors up. The buds did turn out to be a little on the fluffy side but most of them look very appealing. The shorter plant has a very spicy earthy smell and the buds were very tight and heavy. I was going to take pictures while I trimmed but it turned out that I was making everything into a bigger and bigger mess. I have everything hanging in a cedar closet at 50%rh for 6 days. (1 day per 10% of rh +1) I have a case of widemouth quart canning jars to cure in. I found it funny I went through all of our jars and we had all of one wide mouth jar. oh well I know my jars are safe next fall =) I will have a smoke report on the two strains that came up in a week or two, just depending on when my last bit of reserves runs out. This first grow was an awesome experience and I could not have done it without this great community to help. So a HUGE thanks to all of Autoflower Network! I love all of you out there o7's to all of you m8's! Have a great Christmas day to all the members celebrating!

Here are a few pictures of the closet and a couple buds. (The fan is a low speed desk fan pointed away from the greenery) I trimmed some of the buds more than others. Some growers seem to prefer a little more of the sugar leaves than others so I trimmed some down close and left some longer to check it out and see what I like. Again thanks everyone and I will see you for the next grow. I am going to do another grow with the short mix that I have left over, but this time I have a Hanna combo meter to keep my pH reading accurate, and I should have my reverse osmosis system set too. I am hoping that for May I can get a few air pots and the pH perfect Sensi nutes to try. I by then I will be getting some more seeds to try and I was thinking of going with Feminized seeds. I had a few ideas of things I was curious about, I will probably start a poll in the general AF section with a few things that I am thinking of ordering. I am still curious of these "dragons" maybe if there was something that was friendly to a newer grower, but still produced a good yield. Maybe I will stop being a bum and go down to the dragon threads and post a few questions? Anywho I have rambled enough, have a great one guys and gals!

Looks real good. Those beautiful buds will be even better because you grew them. I have used nothing but feminized seed and every one has been a fine girl, well worth the extra bucks.

Do you have to start them differently than a non fem, I think I may have read once that the HPS lights can cause a higher prevalence of hermies? <--- I will also add that I have been hit in the head a lot, so I get things mixed up from time to time. I can completely get behind paying a little extra so I am not throwing out as much soil and energy into males, until I decide to experiment with making seeds and crossing strains to achieve something different after I learn so much more.

I have only grown fems but I believe you don't have to do anything different. The hermi thing is a stress related problem, I think, like too much of something (cold, heat, ph, ect). Anything that stress a young plant can cause it to go to the dark side.
