When in doubt, smoke a trout.
This is my first indoor grow. I did try and grow last summer outdoors but it didn't go too well at all ...
Insects decimated my grow. Whitefly, caterpillars and who knows what else was having a feast on my plants. So I decided to go grow indoors and set up a tent, lights, the whole nine yards. Already I've encountered problems growing indoors. Firstly I was under-feeding my plants. Gallons/liters its all a bit confusing to me, especially when a product says use so many milliliters per gallon and well math has NEVER been my strong suit ...
I was feeding my two plants 4 liters every second day. But instead of feeding them 8ml of nutrients all up (2ml per liter) I was feeding them 2ml per 4 liters. Like I said, math ...
I posted up a pic of my plants and a member here said they look a bit hungry. No kidding! lol at least it made me look at what I was feeding them and realize my mistake (Thank you @STILLSMOKIN)
So I've been feeding my plants 8ml per 4 liters and they've improved heaps. Basically the bottom leaves have stopped turning yellow and the brown spots have stopped developing on the leaves. It made me do some searching and I went out and bought a bunch of stuff from the local hydro store. I got some Go Green Professors Nutrients. Prevents and repairs deficiencies. Also giving 8ml of that per 4 liters. Also got a Truncheon Pen and a PH Meter and have been trying to learn how to use them.
This is what I've found so far. When I make up my mix of nutrients the Truncheon Pen flashes between 900ppm and 1000ppm. I have been making the PH 6.0 each mix. Today I did another feed and I took the runoff and tested it with the PH Meter and the Truncheon Pen. PH runoff is 5.8 and Truncheon Pen is flashing between 700ppm and 800ppm. Does this mean my coco is 5.8ph (which is too low?) and the 700-800ppm means my plants ate roughly 200ppms of nutrients if they went down from 900-1000ppms?
Here's the plants today, which I think they are looking a bit better. They've definitely gone darker green in the leaves which is a good sign?
Thanks for reading. Any tips/advice muchly appreciated.
