More Lessons learnt :/ | Think Different | DWC | HPS 600w
Sooooo, I have definitely learnt more lessons in the last 3 hours..
1. Never put cold water in the reservoir as the plants really, really do not like it!!!
Poor little things are wilted and not happy... In the last 30 mins they have started to perk up a little so hopefully no harm done..
2. Always wait for the nutes to dissolve in the water before pH'ing..
I pH'ed and nuted 10 litre buckets of water to 5.7 and filled up my reservoir tank.. After an hour the pH jumped to 6.4?!?!?!
3. With pH down, a little is really a lot!!
After the shock horror of the pH rise, I proceeded to pour some pH down into the reservoir...
I left it for 30 mins and now the pH is 4.6... Ooooopsie!!!
I have read that you can use Bicarb of soda to bring the pH up.. I am going to add a little at a time until it is correct..
A lot of lessons to learn in the space of a few hours.. I just hope that none of them will hurt my ladies in the long run...
Peace

EDIT:
Since writing this, I did a bit of further research into the use of bicarb of soda..
Apparently, it is not good using it due to the sodium.. It is like trying to grow plants in salt water..
I had about a buckets worth of space left in the pots and Reservoir so I added nutes to a non pH'ed bucket of water (the pH was 6.7).. Left it for a little while in the airing cupboard to warm up and added it..
I have added it to the tanks and am hoping it will rectify the pH...
FINGERS CROSSED!!!!
