Also, what a bleddy nightmare it is to change the res.. Been trying to find an optimised way of doing it but no chance...

I have to,

Drain the central res with the pump whilst carting the water downstairs (I do not have a bathroom upstairs)

When that is drained, It is looking like I have to:

Fill up a 10L bucket of water, put in nutes, wait for them to dissolve, pH it, wait for it to warm a little, put in Res..

Repeat 7 times!

Urghhhh... Worried that the time that the roots are out of the water is too long..

How long can the roots be out of water before it becomes an issue?

sounds like a nightmare bud :no: I would want easy nute disposal & refill options right there to run all those RDWC buckets !... you could grab a cheap water pump (i have one ive never used but got for emptying resies that cost £10)....with a decent length of pipe you could run it down to the toilet/bath & empty/refill the whole system maybe ?. or get a water container in the grow room & keep it full for changes ?. anything to make life easier !

best to not leave the roots exposed for to long Mag ... maybe spray them every half hour or so to make sure they don't dry out :thumbs::smokebuds:

Ok, so a day late but I have changed the res and added the new Dutch Pro nutes...

Per 10L I added:

10ML Multi total
10ML Take Root
30ML Grow Hydro A+B

Waited for 15 mins and pH'ed to 5.8 then left for an hour to warm up a little bit..

Lets hope that this sorts 'em out.. So far, they have not wilted like last time which I think was due to the water temp..

Will post photos in an hour or so

Cheers DWCocha, I think I may have to just ride it out...

To be honest, depending on what kind of yield I get depends on me continuing to grow DWC... I look at Tangs grows and ask myself if DWC is actually worth all of the aggro..

Hey Guys,

Now on day 20..

A lot of issues in the last 4 days, been quite a nightmare and stressful to say the least!

Since last night, they seem to have liked the change of nutes except for browning of the roots.. They were lovely and white before and now they are brown :/

Also experienced my first pH swing! With the canna, they stuck at the same pH where as today the pH has swung from 5.8 to 6.2 which I am in the process of rectifying..

Please view photos below they are really starting to pick up growth now and all new growth looks great..

they are growing a lot better for sure bro .Hopefully that browning on the roots is just staining that some nutes do ....Keep those res temps as low as poss mate , thats what will cause the worst problems if left unchecked .Anything over 23oC & your pushing your luck !. These are great if you dont have one dude

Thanks for stopping by...

Nope, jus washed my hands and wiped inside/bottom of tanks with hand.. Not slimy nor any residue.. I am hoping they are stained from the nutes as the water was a brownish colour when I put in new nutes..

Do you think that this might be the case?
