New Grower My (Not so) Amazing Micro Grow!

Grow Captain's Log, Hempdate 1604201.4:

The cannaplant looks to be growing well. There has been some yellowing in the stems and veins on the fan leaves a few days ago, but now it seems to have cleared up very well.

I have encountered another problem from unknown causes. I have to ask the other grow captains about this extraterrestrial issue at hand. It is a fairly bad image to show, but it seems like there is some twisting on the lowest leaf.

Currently if my perception, and my knowledge from further research of these cannaplants are correct, then my female is currently is up to 5 nodes.

I must apologise, and thank all the grow captains of telling me about the subject of tap water, which I have been completely ignoring, until recently when my female cannaplant was showing signs of some nutrient deficiencies which was not in distilled water.

Additional problem: My plants are up to 5 nodes, and almost (one more day) in her 4th week, and still no sign of sex yet. Nor any kind of progress of her starting to flower. Whoever said Northern Lights have a low odor, must need to have their noses checked out. She is pumping out a lot of odor throughout the room (not complaining, just an fyi).

Just give her time, she will show sex any day now, and if it's the single finger leaves that are twisting it is totally normal, peace out buddy, BARNSIE

Thanks Barnsie2212.

Maybe I should place an update, but she is showing pistils!
This was taken on 19April2014 little after noon.

MAJOR UPDATE!!

I apologise for the delay, kind of forgotten all about uploading the progress of my lady. Rather than reposting all the information I have posted earlier, I am just going to write a description, and a link for those who would like to have a look at them.

On April 19, 2014, there were brown spots on the lower leaves, which has definitely cleared up a while after giving the lady cal/mag (will give cal/mag every feed/watering!).

Click here for more information, for those who are uncertain about brown spots on their plant(s).

On April 23, 2014, and April 24, 2014, I was very confused about the browning on the very top of my plant. I really did not know what it was at first, but later came to realise that it was the pistils turning amber.:dunno: Also, I had some crazy yellowing going on the bottom of my plants. It was just because my plant was using up her fan leaves for the nutrients. I have given her some additional feeding every time I fed, just in case.

Link to the ambering pistils, as well as nutrient draining yellowing leaves.

On May 02, 2014, I made a new thread, asking about yellowing leaves during flowering. I know... I know... Dumb question, now that I look back at it. It was just normal, and that the plant is using the leaves for the nutrients. I think I've might have made a mistake of feeding her every time it was dry, rather than doing the feed, then water, then feed schedule. It was just set up at feed, when it was dry, feed again, then dry, then feed, etc.

Here's the link to the yellowing leaves during flowering.

Major Update (Part Two)

May 16, 2014. I took her out of the bucket, and inspected the plant to see what it looks like now. Here are some pictures of what she looks like last week.
I gave her just straight water for flushing at 6.4 pH. I think I might have done it wrong after reading that I should have only used the same amount I would as watering and/or feeding. Instead I gave her twice the amount of water she needed, and then dumped out the runoff.

May 20, 2014. Here is only ONE picture using my phone and a Carson Magnifier with LED light. I took like five pictures, but this is the only one that came out looking clear.

May 23, 2014. I just pulled the plant out again. And decided to take a before and after pictures of her, after I removed all the dried up, yellow leaves. After learning about flushing only enough to give a little bit of runoff, I have watered at 6.3 pH, for the last time.

Thanks a bunch hiking high!
It was simple to grow(after doing A LOT of research, and asking questions), but with this being my very first grow, I was just stressing out on little things that did not needed to be stressed about.

So, from what I have learned, just make sure to take every precaution / safety, and read up on everything before you start growing, and you'll be fine. Or...Do what I did this very first grow, by just reading up on the section you're basically about to preform (I.E. germination, feeding, watering, harvesting, etc.) then read up the next part when you get to it.

Hi- Looks great, what height has the plant gotten to? 12" - 24"?
Thanks, keep us posted!

Hey Ryknow, I just measured her now, and she comes up at 10 and 1/4 inches tall (around 26 centimeters tall) from the top to the top of the soil.

I've kind of stunted her growth, because I "forgot" to add extra structures to my space bucket to make the bucket taller.

Honestly though, she grew up until 4 inches (10.16 cm) from the top of the bucket. As the light bulbs were in the way, it prevented her from growing any further. Then I added another top section of a 5 gallon bucket which added about another 3-4 inches (7.62 - 10.16 cm), and she grew again as close to the cfl light bulb as she was flowering.

Looks good to me man. A lot better then my first grow. I rushed into it so I made some bad mistakes.

Mistakes + spider mites + gants = no fun lol...Well, it was still fun. I learned A LOT that grow lol. They were free seeds. So, no loss really.

Keep it up.

And the stress thing man. Yea, I just learned to not stress period. Stressing out always seems to make me make stupid decision sometimes.
