Grow Mediums my res pumps are bumping up PH

With weaker feeds I typically observe 0.2 raised pH of the solution after some time with airstones. After that it wont go up anymore due to that. I try to pH accordingly and/or adjust as needed.

Haven't really had issues with it as there are number of other things going on that makes the pH drift.

And imo ph drift is necessary for proper uptake of the whole range of nutrients

Not trying to hijack but are you not using pump or airstones?

Its greenleaf mega crop and calmagpro and sweet candy and bud explosion. It does not leave much of a sediment, but I can see it. Its like a cloud suspended in the water. It might not even matter but I don't know for sure if my nutes have like a variable potency because its not fully diluted and mixed.
source water is pH of 7.1.
I tried an airstone first and that bumped up pH value. Used ph down and....
Then i picked up a submersible circulating pump that just circulates water and that increased pH up too so i put in ph down....
I then just left the res without a pump and the pH value drifted up again so I had to reduce it. I have never seen that before in my setup. Usually pH is stable when left alone.

I think my best bet is to wait for the next res refill and I'll try the pump but only a couple of minutes a day and I'll be more diligent in recording the results.

What things can make pH drift? Water temp? Nutes used?

Interesting. So if it drifts up out of the range that is best for the medium (e.g in a peat substrate it is initially 6.5 but climbs up to 7), do you bring it back down or leave it? I have been bringing it down as soon as I notice it.

I would love to get a wifi ph tester that sits in a reservoir that has a phone app for checking the value! And is under $100 and has free shipping with Amazon Prime!!!

I misled you just because I was too lazy to explain what my substrate really is. It's 50 percent hp promix peat. And the other 50% is an amended coco I made up. So I think 6.5 is where I want to be.

I know as it eats the nutrients ph will swing high but if you go by ppm i bet you are low on ppm when ph is high. Then when ppm is stable again i check ph. Its usually around 5.5 to 6. Im running mc with ph down from botanicare and air stones only
