Once the myco gets wet it will die within a few days if it doesn't find roots to feed on.

It was my understanding that they can also feed off nutrients already in the soil. And also the reason that "super soil" TLO users "cook" their soil before use?

The mycos feed and then "poop" nutrient-rich particles during the "cook" for the plant to use as needed
